Just to be clear, I think those three regiments and a Battalion that went to Fort Pillow were:
Kings 22nd/20th Arkansas Infantry Regiment
Carroll's 18th Arkansas Infantry Regiment
Smead's 19th Arkansas Infantry Regiment
McCarver’s 14th Arkansas Infantry (probably the battalion that was spoken of)
King's Carroll's and McCarvers are all specifically mentioned as being at Fort Pillow, but Smead is less clear to me.
The Battalion that is mention is also unclear. I am think that this is either a reference to McCarver, in which case I would assume that Smead's 19th was not at Fort Pillow since that would mean that McCraver's unit is one of the three regiments mentioned and we know the other two were the 18th and the 22nd.
If McCravers unit is one of the three regiments listed, then I would assume that the battalion mentioned is either
Jones' 8th Arkansas Infantry Battalion or
Lemoynes' 17th Arkansas Infantry Regiment which is referred to aas Lemoynes battalion.
Am I tracking correctly?
