There is nothing that details what exactly they carried...generally speaking, they would have had a US style cavalry saber. Most would probably have had multiple pistols and perhaps a carbine or sawed off shotgun. As for uniforms, most would have worn parts of their previous uniforms, but out here it was a hit and miss with clothing. So they would have done the best they could with what they could get their hands on. No real photos exist of very many of them to show exactly how they were dressed. Hats were probably varied as well. Wish there was something that could be concrete to provide you...maybe someone else has more info on this. I have never found anything that details their equipage.
