another thing about James Peeler. My mother has a double barrel percussion cap shotgun that he returned with from the war. he found it discarded possibly around Jenkins Ferry. When my grandfather got it in 1930, it was in 3 pieces. it's put back together now and is a wall hanger. it has the gun makers name engraved on it and it traces back to England 1850's.
