Re: Majors Enoch Wolfe and Major Jacob Wolf

According to Mary Ann Messick's HISTORY OF BAXTER COUNTY, Major Jacob Wolf was imprisoned at Batesville for pistol whipping a Federal soldier who was trying to take over the Wolf House at Liberty (now Norfork, the house is still standing), But I have never been able to find out any details of his imprisonment, he reportedly (he was in his seventies, as I recall) died soon after being released in January 1863. Can anyone shed any light on his imprisonment, or if he was ever tried.
