Duke Sumner and his brother Henry were involved in bushwacking around the area of Camden, Phelps, Dent,Texas and Wright counties. Towards the end of the war, Duke lead a gang of fifty bushwackers around Hartville, Missouri. Duke and Henry rode with several of the Phelps county bushwackers including Bushwacker Bill Wilson who was a great great great uncle of mine. I've been gathering information about the Phelps county bushwackers for years and was hoping to get copies of the newspaper articles talking about the death of Sumner. Anything you might be able to share would be appreciated.
