Becky, there was a Pvt. James O. Wright in the 17th dismounted Texas Cavalry, Co H. He was 32 years old in 1862. I'm not finding him dying at Camp Nelson, but many Texas soldiers did die in November, 1862 at Camp Nelson. Where did you get the Nov. 1862 date. Many of his Unit were captured about January 13, 1863 at the Battle of Arkansas Post and made prisoners of war. Some didn't make it through that ordeal.
There is no complete death list from Camp Nelson and probably never will be, too many unknowns. I will check a little deeper and will post if I find more.
Oh, there was also a James Wright in the 16th dismounted Texas Cavalry, Co B. He was 25 years old in 1862. He was still living, but sick in a Bonham, Texas hospital in April 1865. His unit also passed through Camp Nelson in the fall of 1862.
