Re: Etter's Arkansas Battery

According to the Letters of William Bull, on 1 Dec 1864 he was ordered to report to Captain Etter as a drill master. Etter is listed as the Chief of Artillery, Defenses of Camden, and the Battery that Bull was assigned to drill was in the fort at Point Lookout. Latter he was sent to drill the guns at Fort Southerland. When Confederate forces evacuated Camden and moved to Shreveport. Bull help disable the guns at Fort Southerland and blow up its magazine.

Any thoughts on what units were assigned to the defenses of Camden in December 64 to May 65? Any ideas where Fort Southerland was and what guns were there?
