The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Help Please

I am totally lost in the search to find out what happened to my great, great grandfather.
I have only pension records that were applied for 34 years after the fact so this information may
or may not be accurate.

I am trying to find out what happened to Joel Walker. He entered the Civil War in Nov. 1863 in Miller County
Arkansas as a Confederate soldier:
Company E
serving under Capt. John Naton (maybe Nathan)
Col. Red Harrison's regiment of the volunteers
& General R.G. Shavers

I am truly confused,
I can't seem to find much.
I am not sure whether my ancestor Joel Walker was killed in action, had an illness
was taken prisoner or what.
I can't find him on any roster but I have the above information on the Widow's Pension.
Joel was given and honorable discharge on the 1st of July and died on the 10th of July 1864.
I don't know where he died or where he is buried. I would be so thankful if someone would
point me in the right direction.
I would like to know his story.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this.
Sunny
