Yes Bryan; We discovered the remains of Fort Pleasent on private property back in the '90's and had it documented in 2003 by the National Military Parks Service. It is located 4 miles north of the Jefferson County Court House, and 2 miles north of University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff on the old Arkansas river bend at McGregor's Reach, off of Macfadden Road, off of US highway 79 B.

Primary troops stationed there was Gen Daniel Frost Missouri Infantry Brigade consisting of Mitchells 8th Missouri Inf. Clarks 9th Missouri Inf. Von Phul Battery and Ruffner's battery. these troops were stationed there from February 1863 until August 1863. The Fort was armed with two of the three heavy guns recovered from the Well at Fort Hindman after the battle of Arkansas Post.

Hardy's Inf. regiment was also assigned to the defense of the Lower Arkansas River under Gen. Frost's authority and in early summer 1863 was assigned to his brigade. elements of Richardson's Texas cavalry, the 6th Louisiana Cavalry and other were on occations assigned to the area command and reported to Fort Pleasent and Gen Frost after the Battle of Arkansas Post.

Also Camp Day was located across a feeder branch waterway beside Fort Pleasent which is now part of the Pine Bluff Arsenal. U.A.P.B. college was the site of Walkers Texas Division's Camp Wright. Walkers Texas Division Camp guarded the approaches to Fort Pleasent.
