What you have is generally referred to as a "Kentucky rifle", although it may not necessarialy have been made in Kentucky. The actual maker would have signed his name across the top of the barrel. The name on the lock is likely not the maker of the rifle. If there is no barrel signature than pictures would be necessary to determine approximate date of manufacture and perhaps region made.
