His waist belt appears new and is fastned with a common iron roller buckle. Use of these belts was common for all CS forces.

Cartridge box looks to be for a .69 cal smoothbore and is belt mounted although it has provisions for a sling.

Musket appears to be a model 1822 smooth bore, possibly converted to precussion but can't be determined from the picture. Lots of these arms were used in the early years of the war.
