I have what may be a Griswold and Gunnison that was unearthed in the mid 70's from a field in Powder Springs, GA. The gun is heavily rusted as well as the action. It has carvings on the grips that say "Vern Landers 15th Texas" and "Army of Tennessee". The serial stamp is 127, with one of them being slightly mis-aligned. This was found with leathers from horse bridals and buckles, and buckets full of spent rifle and pistol ammunition. This was given as a gift to me about 5 years back by a friends grandmother who owned the land we hunted on, when I was more involved in relic hunting. Perhaps someone could recommend an authority on the matter who would know more about the gun. Thank you for any help.
