I recently bought at auction a musket inscribed Harpers Ferry and below that 1839. Also in front of the trigger guard there is a spread eagle with US below it. Can anyone tell me exactly what i have and i also need a replacement ramrod, its missing.Anyone know where i could get an original replacement? The gun is obviously very old ,a little rusted and pitted...but i can make out the letters and numbers. Also, is there anything i can do to clean the metal up a little or is this not proper?
