In packing out my militaria in preparation for a house move, I came across a fine article on "The Confederate Kerr Revolver" by Henry L. Gaidis in the January, 1979 issue of The Gun Report. Eight pages, lots of detail, including an estimate of the patent (serial) numbers. For instance, he estimates all numbers below 2500 were sold to English volunteer units and retail sales. CSA Captain Caleb Huse arrived in England in May of 1861 to purchase weapons, and that is about when serial 2500 began.
