Examine the lock plate, thats the 3 to 5 inch long plate on the right below the hammer and nipple. It will usally have a brand name ie Springfield etc. a date and/or an emblem. if that doesn't work try looking on top of the barrell this make take a glass to see. How many bands the metal bands holding the stock to the barrell does it have? Brass or iron?
