Although there is no official documentation of anything on the revese of the North Carolina State Flag's canton or union in any resolution or ordinance in state archives, that I have or can find. I'd say that the only possible image that would be found, if any, would be the historic image of a hornet's nest attached to a tree branch with thirteen hornets randomnly placed about the nest. This image was often referred to as the State's Military Crest. Some NC uniform buttons have this image. You obviously have a major axe that you are grinding on for Ben and now Shannon. Just curious as to why you seem to take flag inquiries so personal. Some reenactors are looking to portray their units as accurately as possible on the field. Not every historic flag "re-maker" is looking to dupe some less educated "collector" on Ebay. You are the class of the field Ken. Just wondering why you seem so angry at innocent queries.
