According to the late Howard Madaus, this flag, a Ft. Donelson capture (the 23rd Mississippi lost a few other flags there as well), ended up at the New York Sanitary Fair in 1864. After that it disappears.

Do you have anything more for it? It was probably a First National like the rest of the surviving flags for this unit.
