Wow! Thank you so much for this info! We have never known what it looked like....only what the inscription said. And to think it continued making its own "history" for so many years after the war. This information will be posted in a letter to the editor of the Booneville, Mississippi, newspaper (Blackland is very close to this city.) and given to their local museum. Surely this will cause someone still in the area to search their ancestors' histories. Perhaps we will discover more. Thank you again, Ken, for this valuable piece of history. I imagine the story of how you found it in that paper is an interesting adventure itself.
