Confederate reenactors seem to have a large variety of uniforms even within their companies. I see Butternut, with Richmond Depot etc. Wouldn't a Confederate company have very similar uniforms? I would suspect that uniforms were issued about the same time and wore out about the same time. The quartermaster would probably order in large volumes at once vs. 1 uniform here and one there. Wouldn't there be more uniforms of a similar kind within each company? I think that the current mix and match of confederate reenactors is probably not that accurate.

I could see the difference between regiments, but not companies.

Am I wrong on this?
