.. The "hybrid" 3rd/4th bunting is quite plausible, and that would make perfect sence to these flags. I havent found much on the form of research or details upon these "sub-variations" that much.. Since it didnt completely fit the known charactoristics of either issue, thus was the reasons for posting... to promote discussions and opinions..

.. please dont get angry or defensive.. this is just a polite discussion... I was not doubting or countering your initial impression just adding additional data for further considerations upon it. When this particular flag was issued I havent found yet. They returned to Virginia from SC in early May of 1864.. I had hoped to find more than one surviving flag from this brigade (26th, 34th, 46th, 59th Va) to get at least a reasonable guess at what the other missing regimental ones might have been..
