I never seem to make myself clear. It occured to me that the flag might have been (for instance) the flag of the 12th Ga., or whatever, or maybe the 65th had a prior moniker, and with the later (65th) designation, and, since it would be impossible to overlay a "12" with a "65", they might have overpainted the old designation with a shield and applied the "65."
As I said, it just seemed curiously novel.
