Re: US flags captured by Tennessee Confederates

I have found something new. On October 6th, 1863, the 25th Tennessee led by Colonel Hughes (East Tenn) fought against the 37th Kentucky Mounted Infantry. The 37th Kentucky had 420 men led by Major Martin. Their losses were: 9 Killed, 26 Wounded and 226 Captured.

Curious if they lost a flag.

I would be more then happy to compare lists, I am getting more organized because I have had the last Seven months off. I believe it will take at least another year to get it all organized. If these people would just let me stay in Washington DC, I can get more work done. There is not much in Germany, I will still use the internet and see what comes up, but nothing is comparable to the LOC/NA.

I am hoping not to leave, this just kills it for my research. Why not just save the money and time and just keep me in Washington DC. They have stopped the practice of having soldiers spend, Two years or Three years and up in Germany. Now they want them to stay in Germany till their Four year or more contract is up. So there is no point keeping me there for One year or Two. I will retire on October 19th, 2012. Well that is the Army for you....

Bitter and grumpy,

Shawn Prouty
