Josh & Tim,
For what its worth; only four men can be identified
as being members of the Color Guard of the 56th.
Three of those men were from Company I, two of whom were
killed at Gettysburg.
Ironically Robert A. Holt is NOT listed as wounded or missing
at Gettysburg.
There are however, three other Holts from Co. I that are listed
D. N. Holt wounded severely in ankle
R. M. Holt wounded slightly in arm
J. P. Holt missing

The casualty report for the 56th Va can be found in the
Richmond Enquirer of July 29, 1863.

Tim, could these other Holt's be related also?
Could R. M. Holt actually be Robert A.?
