Re: 1st NC Union Volunteers Flag
In Response To: 1st NC Union Volunteers Flag ()

Hi Richard,

The National of the 1st NCC Artillery sold at auction a few years back, don’t know who the owner is. I had an article of the presentation of the regimental colors, made in Boston, no real description of it if I recall correctly. I’ll hunt thru the paper files to see if I still have it. I think I send a fax copy to the NC archives, have you checked with them? Maybe Tom Belton will see your request and respond.

Querist as to why your site is titled NC Buffalo Soldiers, that term is associated with the black Indian fighters? I know the 1st NC Mounted Infantry came into NC through Cherokee lands but I don’t recall them in a fight with them.

Happy Trails!
