Not sure where you live, but if you can get to Raleigh and the NC State Archives check out the microfilm copy of the (Raleigh), North Carolina Standard, June 14, 1869 for a detailed account of the presentation of the national and regimental flags of the First North Carolina Union Volunteers which were delivered to Governor William W. Holding at the state capitol building and placed in the governor's office. I have no idea what happened to the flags later. Wish I did. Regards, Tom Belton
