Admittedly, variances are to be expected, especially with something made by hand by a number of people. Basically, what I wanted to know if if the information I had ran across was accurate. More or less, were the later 3rd bunting issues consistantly and notably smaller that the earlier issues. From what Greg said, the simple answere to my question is "yes". I found the information about the different cuts of bunting size interesting. I kind of agree w/ Greg in wondering what the heck they did w/ the 6" that was cut off the bolts. Cutting them in two to get two 9" strips made sense from a "conservation of bunting" standpoint. Especially when you consider that the next shipment of bunting might get seized running the blockade. The change in style to the "4th bunting issue" seems to indicate that a significantly large shipment of English bunting made it through. All of the panels in the 4th buntings seemed to be 18"+/- wide. (allwing for the flat felled seams, of course)
