Ken and Josh.. Thanks again..

Was trying to locate a good clear image of the flag.. but if the museum has a website of its own I couldnt locate it yet..

Researched more on Capt Hardwicke... records show he was indeed at Appomattox.. wrapped the flag on his person to conceal to prevent capture. Got more on the "family story"... according to that account, he later gave the flag to his then sweet heart... who by the way went off with someone else and didnt marry Hardwicke... taking the gifted flag with her... Thats where the family knowledge of the flag ended. Reportedly the flag had 21 bullet holes countable in it when he last had it. Sounds like this might be the same flag. Havent yet found anything of what they might have had earlier in the war... Interesting chase..
