The rare CSA $500 bill (issue of Feb 1864, Type 64, depicting "Stonewall" Jackson, CSA seal, and second national flag) shows the second national flag of the CSA, but w/o the center star ... and what appears to be horizontal stripe. Have I overlooked an answer in the Search feature here, or has someone addressed the "peculiarity" of the twelve-star being used (and whether the "bar" is intentional). See the link for an example.
