I just found this message board. I have been told that Jacob Louis/Lewis was my great great grandfather. He was born in Prussia 1827 and came to the U.S., around 1851. He found his way to Pulaski County, GA, somehow. He did fight in the Civil War and had one finger shot off. Some of the census shows Prussia, then Germany and Poland. He came back after the war and was a farmer and had a small store. I wonder if it can be the same person.
