Ricky and Greg,
Both of those item numbers on Ebay show the same flag image and give the same description. However the first flag shows it was sold for $1,125.00 and the second has a "buy it now" price of $800.00. The auction on both items ended in December. Both of these flags show a second National pattern in the picture with the following in the description. " presented to Co. H, St. Augustine Rifles by the ladies of Putnam County in 1861". It would been pretty hard to have a Second National presented in 1861. And the prices are dead give aways. Recently Heritage Auctions out of Nashville auctioned off several genuine battleflags. One being JEB Stuart's (property of JEB Stuart IV and previously displayed at The Museum of The Confederacy) which sold for $800,000 plus a 27.5% Buyers Premium going to the seller. A Department of Tennessee, rectangular pattern battleflag reported as being that of the 31st Tennessee Volunteers went for well over $100,000. I've seen a lot of flag and relic fakes on Ebay. It's amazing what a well used N-SSA or reenactors flag will do to fool the untrained eye. Keep up the good work Greg.
