154th New York's flags at Gettysburg

I was looking over "Gettysburg, A Testing of Courage" by Noah Andre Trudeau. On page 241 it says "In the utter confusion of the retreat, the flags of the 134th New York were saved by a member of the 154th New York, while a solider of the 134th New York recovered the Stars and Stripes belonging to the 154th New York."

I have read this book over and over, but something in their caught my eye this time. Notice how Mr.Trudeau said that the 154th New York's Stars and Stripes were recovered? But no mention of the regimental flag as recovered..

I am still working on the 11th Corps regiments that lost a flag, I will remain on that for awhile.

Howard's 11th Corps had 26 regiments.
I don't believe Col Orland Smith's brigade lost any flags.

The 82nd Ohio did not lose any flags.
The 45th New York " " " " " "

The 25th Ohio and 75th Ohio, I know they lost something, but I am just hitting a brick wall..so far. I'm not giving up.

If anyone knows of 11th Corps regiments that did or didn't lose a flag, that would be a huge help. I am trying this a different way. Instead of looking for regiments that lost a flag, first I will find regiments that did not lose a flag. Then I will cross their regiment off the list. And eventually something will come out from hiding....

Have a good night, everyone
