That is incorrect. These are two different units completely. The 3rd Georgia Battalion was organized in October, 1861 fighting in the Cumberland Gap area, the Kentucky Campaign and at Murfreesboro. In May, 1863, they merged with the 9th Georgia battalion to form the 37th Georgia Iantry regiment.

The 10th Georgia Battalion did not form until March, 1862 and it fought only in the east.
