In correspondence with R Gideon he informed me about the method of attaching sleeved flags by use of a leather tab. I have a diagram but am interested in more specific details as to general practice on these. Should the tab be about 3/4" wide by +/-2" long? How big should the hole for the cord be, 1/4" or smaller/larger? Should about 1/2 of the length of the tab be inside the sleeve and 1/2 of it sticking out? I assume it's attached inside of the outside side of the sleeve, not next to the flag. Sewn at the end only or up the sides and across the top of the sleeve as well? How common was it to have a second tab at the bottom?
