Re: 50th Ohio, flag lost at Franklin, Tenn

I just stumbled on that regiment (50th Ohio.) I did read a regimental history on the 61st Ohio (they had not filed a report on Gettysburg.) No mention of a color lost.

At Franklin, the 24th Wisconsin wrote they found a flag from the 51st Illinois on the ground. But no Union regiments wrote of saving the 50th Ohio's National Flag that Major Thuburn wrote he "stepped over." The LOC had nothing else on the 50th Ohio.

Have a good night!
