Re: Georgia State Troops flags
In Response To: Georgia State Troops flags ()

Hello,

As only one flag from the Georgia State Troops still survives (although I have files for the presentation of a few other of their flags in 1861), based on this they were CSA First Nationals, some bearing mottoes.

The flag that survives is the Worrill Grays (6th GA State Troops) which was taken late in the war by the Federals near Macon if I correctly recall.

I am doing a book on Georgia's flags and I would love to get copies of anythign you have for your ancestor.

Two flags still survive for the Georgia Reserves that were raised later in the war. Both are in the style of ANV flags but made at the Macon Depot.

Hope this helps.
