I made inquiries with the historical society in Perry and they are looking into the matter.
If necessary I will investigate the matter myself.
I have come across some oddities.
One is that the Tallahassee newspaper that closed in 1863 is almost totally intact, while the other one that published after that time seems to have had all but a few issues disappear.
I learned this when looking for any accounts of Perry that would have been published by that newspaper.
Tallahassee was not subjected to the wild destruction visited on other capitals - there is no reason why years of an entire newspaper should have vanished when another newspaper from the same place would be left intact.
