Keep in mind that the Confederates moved casualties to hospital areas by train after the battle, so that sped things up a bit.

There were hospital areas all across North Florida and South Georgia after the battle. Wounded men were spread out across the area to avoid overwhelming the very limited hospital facilities in the state.
