George --

I'm not sure how this company became designated as being from Montgomery County. I've identified eighty of eighty-eight members of Company "C" and can find no more than a dozen or so from any given county. The largest groups are from Perry and Butler Counties. Captain Bright and Private Charles Payton enlisted at Montgomery but appear to have been residents of Pensacola in 1861. Perhaps they were refugees from that city.
