I am currently researching the 1st model maynard carbines purchased by the state of Fla.in 1861. Reasearch has indicated that Fla. purchased at least 1000. They appear to be all .37 caliber. I have one that was captured from a seargent in the 3rd batallion Fla. cav. near Gonzales in west Fla. I am currently looking for anyone who may know of any others that may have been identified as having been carried by a Fla soldier. I know that some of the 2nd Fla. cav.recieved some also. Richard J.
