Lori,
Yes, the 2nd Florida did participate in "Pickett's" charge on 3 July at Gettysburg. However, the three Florida regiments under Colonel Lang, joined with Wilcox's Alabama brigade, both from Anderson's division, were the last Confederate troops to enter the fight, essentially after the soldiers from Pickett's, Pettigrew's and Trimble's divisions had been repulsed. The 2nd was on the very left of the line of Lang and Wilcox, and when they entered the low ground along Plum Run just west of Cemetery Ridge, they were attacked on their left flank by the 16th Vermont, which a few minutes prior had been firing into the right flank of Pickett's division, and four companies of the 14th Vermont came up as well. Quite a few men from the 2nd Florida were captured, and the regiment also lost their silk battle flag to Sergeant Charles D. Brink, the color bearer of the 16th Vermont. Several men captured from the 2nd died in Union prison camps.
