I realize this thread is quite old but questions were asked that I think need clarification. Camp Tatnall was a Confederate camp about 50 miles north of Pensacola, Florida just inside Alabama. It was located at Pollard, Alabama and was also called "Camp Pollard." It was at the junction of the Alabama-Florida railroad and the railroad which eventually went from Montgomery to near Mobile. The camp's purpose, among other things, was to guard that junction and monitor Union movements from Pensacola. It was named after a Confederate officer (Tatnall) who - I think - began the camp and later General Clanton was the camp commander. This camp as I understand has little official documentation following it.
