I surely do appreciate such a quick reply. I just called Jesse and he's also grateful; he's also a little dismayed that a Sumner (Wesley) would desert. He said "he can't be kin to me." I explained that a brother dying of disease before his eyes can be awfully demoralizing to the best of men, and assured him that he may very well turn up later in another unit.
