a need for burial proof

I've been researching my Confederate ancestor, Pvt. John K. Exum of the 50th Georgia Infantry Company K. He was killed at the Battle of the Wilderness, Va. and probably buried there. I need some documentation to prove this to qualify him for a Veteran Adminstration supplied gravemarker. This document needs to state he was killed and buried in a mass or unmarked grave. I have what I believe are his complete service records that state he was killed on May 6 1864 but nothing telling of his burial. If anyone knows of such a list or where to find it your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Steve
