I recall seeing a number of descriptive articles from the June 1863 "Savannah Republican" regarding the CSS Atlanta and its capture. If you do not have access to the Savannah Republican newspaper (on microfilm), I know you can get it on interlibrary loan through the University of Georgia Library, courtesy of your local public or college library.

I'm related to the wife of engineer Edward J. Johnston, who was recently disinterred from Massachusetts and buried next to his wife at Fernandina, FL. It was quite a moving ceremony!
