Ed, I have no other information at all on this soldier. As I stated, I found a microfilm record of him in the Compiled Service Records of the 40TH Ala. Inf. Regt. that I am doing research on. I suspected that his unit was incorrect as there were no other records of him serving in this unit and I found that a man with the same name was listed with the 40TH Georgia Inf. I am trying to determine if this man really was with the 40TH Ga. instead of the 40TH Ala. I was hoping that someone may have access to the C.S.R. for the 40TH Ga. If so, hopefully it could be determined that if there are no other records for this man with the 40TH Ga. after July 1864, it could be reasonably concluded that this man really was with the 40TH Ga. and not the 40TH Ala. I have found errors in the C.S.R. from time to time.
