Hey Neil, thanks for roster of Co. E, guess I was reading too much between the lines. On search of Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System, I found someone with same name--James Stone--who served in 14th Regt GA Infantry-doesn't say which Company. Then, I search Forsyth County, Georgia Civil War Units that sez Co E, 14th Georgia was formed in Forsyth Co--which is exactly where my ancestor James Stone (no known middle initial) grew up from birth until 1860 or longer.

I don't find him on Co E,14th GA roster, unless it represents a partial, he served in a different Company of 14th GA, or some other Georgia Regiment. What a quick reply, here in OK its unusual and much appreciated. I need more specific info before going to the Archives, and sure would welcome any suggestions for my next search. Bob
