23rd georgia infantry

I am looking for some information on soldiers in my wife's family. William Hicks is listed in Union County on both the 1850 and 1860 census, he is 32 years old in 1850. His wife is Elizabeth Allison. There are four sons that were most certainly involved in the war. James H., William C., Jesse E. and Martin (L.M.). William, the father, was in the Union County Milita and is listed in District 834 of Joe Browns census. A marker on Jesse's grave indicates he was in Co.K, 23rd Georgia Infantry. As of yet I have found no evidence of a Company K, also an L.M. Hicks is buried in Habersham County whom I am certain is a son of William. Census records indicate he is Louis Martin, with the last name sometimes spelled Hix. The marker at his grave says he was in Co. C, llth Regt. Ga. Cavalry. I am having trouble varifying this to my satisfaction. If anyone can help with these soldiers or this line I would appreciate a response.
