The 7th Regiment Georgia State Guards appears to have been formed about September 1863, by the consolidation of Lester's Battalion and Neely's Battalion Georgia State Guards.
Lester's Battalion forming Companies A, C, E, G, K and L. Neely's Battalion forming Companies B, D, F, H and J.

Note: Term of service having expired, this company is this day disbanded, Jan 31, 1864.

August 5, 1863 thru January 31, 1864:
My 4th Great Grandfather Smith Alexander was enlisted as a Private in Company K, 7th Infantry, Georgia ( State Guards ).

This is ALL i have from his Confederate Service Records, Anyone know more about this Unit?
