Re: Bennett O. Estes -- which unit?

That info matches some of what I have. Did it come from Brooke's? I guess it was common for data to be listed different ways in different sources, mistakes were made, a soldier could be misinformed, he could be moved to another Rgt. Also, I have had trouble reading some of the old handwriting. Bennett thought he was in the 39th at the end. See below:

A camp letter from Bennett Estes to his wife. All spelling is (sic):

My Dearest Wife
I Turn my Eyes to ward home and with a sigh I think of thee and with A hope I shall you see I think of thee my Dearest wife whoe are the pleshers of my life.

My Dearest children I think of you and hope I will soon be with you to hear you sing and se you play as I hav dun in A past Day.

My Jesus now I think of thee who both died to get me free from satons pour of wickedness I hope to prase thee with the lite.

Dear wife chek your letters after this form for the number of our Regiment is changed to the 39.
