My name is Jerry Paul Murray and I am the GGG Grandson of SS Boss and Emily Bentley. I know Emily was Born 3-Sep-1824 and married SS Boss on 2-Nov-1847 in Cooper Heights, Walker County, GA.

SS was killed in the Civil War on October 20 1863 at the battle of Philadelphia TN. I have copies of letters that Emily received from SS prior to his death and his commanding officer after his death.

I believe there were six soldiers killed in that battle and the letter talks of knowing where he is buried. I am searching for any information on the battle or skirmish that took place and if anyone out there knows of the burial place?
